Lavender moon quartz is known as a stone of love and comes from a single mine and is mined straight from the host rock.  The mine opened in 1956 called the Boquira Mine located in the municipality of Oliveira dos Braguinhos in the Brazilian state of Bahia. They are no longer mining from this location.
